Are you more likely to develop shingles after contracting wild-type chicken pox?

Are you more likely to develop shingles after contracting wild-type chicken pox?or after getting the varicella vaccine? I'd like to see some studies that show some hard data. Thanks!

The stronger your immunity to chickenpox, and the more often you are exposed to it to get natural immunity boosters, the less likely you are to get shingles. So it stands to reason that the weaker immunity the chickenpox vaccine provides would make one more susceptible to shingles. And this is what is actually happening, as shingles has now become a disease of all ages, whereas before it primarily affected elderly people.

Get the facts on the chickenpox vaccine, treatment, causes (varicella zoster virus, VZV), symptoms and signs (itchy, red rash).
