Chicken pox?Forgive me, I have more than one question.
I had the chicken pox when I was 5.
My husband has them now. Yes, I did suggest -- STRONGLY -- that he get the vaccination, but sometimes denial is stronger than science.
Our kids were immunized for chicken pox so they wouldn't infect their dad. Life is funny that way, isn't it? Now, hopefully, he won't infect them...
Now the questions:
Do the kids need some kind of chicken pox immunization booster?
If my husband has the chicken pox, I know I'm unlikely to get them again. But if he's contagious, am I a virus carrier? Am I likely to spread it -- or just him?
Thanks!

Depending how long ago your children were immunized they may have to get another one for the Chicken Pox. I had heard that they don't last as long as they first thought. However, if the children have been exposed to your husband this whole time, there really is not much you can do now, but let time tell.
YOU will not give the children chicken pox. If you have had them (and had them good mind you), you will not get them again, nor be a carrier of them to your children.

Once you've had the chicken pox you could no longer be infected. Even after the symptoms are completely gone you may still be contagious, studies show as long as around 6-10 months.Hope your husband and children get better soon!
Get the facts on the chickenpox vaccine, treatment, causes (varicella zoster virus, VZV), symptoms and signs (itchy, red rash).
