Can a person have chicken pox twice in there lifetime?

Can a person have chicken pox twice in there lifetime?I have a brother who had the chicken pox back when he was like 5-7 years old. Now he is 14 years old, and red spots are starting to come out of him. I looked in google images and typed red spots and the chicken pox picture resembles his spots. But I thought you can only get them ones. If you are a doctor or has information about this please give me an answer for this

Chicken pox can only occur once. Shingles, which are in the same family as chicken pox can happen multiple times.

My doctor told me it's rare but possible to get chicken pox twice... Does he or did he have a high fever??? Are some of the pox busting and regrowing?? Does it itch??

He may or may not have chicken pox so make sure you don't come in any contact with any of his bodily fluids...

****EDIT**

I agree w/ "S" I think it may be Shingles but some of the symptoms are a little more "serious" (not life threatening or anything) than the chicken pox (although the disease althogether may be serious) ....what symptoms has your brother had???

Not a physician, but I know that you cannot get varicella (chickenpox) twice. There are many, many other rashes, caused by bacteria and viruses, that can resemble chickenpox.

Regarding herpes zoster (shingles), it does not resemble chickenpox. Shingles travels on the nerve paths from the spinal cord up the trunk and face and is characterized by extreme neurological pain and painful blisters, but just in those specific areas, not on the entire body.

This article lists (extensively!) the conditions that can cause rashes:
