How old is the best age to have Chicken pox?My son is 10 and has never had them. I know the older you get the more dangerous it gets to get them. What age does it become very dangerous to get them? If he gets them in the next few years would he be okay now? And is it possible for him to get them now?

I know if an adult catches chicken pox it can be somewhat fatal. I remember having it when I was 6. I would read up on it just to make sure he isn't getting near the stage where it can be really dangerous.

there ISN'T a good age to have them lol.....
they suck no matter how old you are, although i'd say i had alot easier time with it, relatively speaking, at 10 than my kids did as teens....
adults have been known to die from it.
younger is definately better to get this one out of the way.

Are you sure he hasn't had the vaccination? It was new when my 14 year old was about 2......
No clue about the best age. I know its worse if you're an adult.

i was in the third grade (i think i was 9) when my mom sent me to a playdate at a girls house down the street. within a week, i was in bed with the chicken pox (my mom did this on purpose). it was rough, but i only missed 1 week of school and was able to bounce back without a problem. my older brother was 19 and caught them from me, and he went through hell! he missed like 2 weeks from school and couldnt shake the ickiness for quit awhile.
i suggest trying to make sure you kid gets them while still in grade school, id say between 3rd and 5th grade. they are more able to deal and bounce back at this stage, and as a parent, its a little easier taking care of them when they are still a bit smaller, IMO

My husband never had chicken pox, but got them at the age of 43. Hopefully MUCH Sooner than that. You are right that it gets worse when they are older.
