are the chicken pox and hand foot and mouth disease related?i was wondering is the chicken pox and the disease hand foot and mouth related in anyway. cause right now i supposable have the hand foot and mouth disease but i've looked at pictures and i don' thave the same sore like blisters that appear in the pictures. what i have is little red dots on my hands and a few on my feet and the rest of my body just a lot on my hands and they are very sore. but i've never had the chicken pox, so i was wondering if i got the hand foot and mouth disease if i could still later on in life get the chicken pox. and if you could help tell me what the sores on my hands are and the rest of my body if its not the hand foot and mouth disease.

Only relation is that both are Bovine Viruses which jumped to Humans.

no they're not related chicken pox is caused by varecilla virus and hand and foot is caused by the coxsackie virus. I have had the unfortunate experience of both. You can definitely get both

I got hand foot and mouth disease three years ago, and believe me it was not fun. I think that you probably won't get chicken pox, because my chicken pox shot wore off and I babysat for a kid the day before he got all of his pox, and I shared a drink with my sister when she had it, but I never got sick. I got sores on my hands, a few on my feet, and lots inside my mouth. Ever since I had the disease, I have been getting cold sores.
