Chickenpox? Need help moms!?The ladie who works at my inlaws house cleaning is now on break, becuase my inlaws (who we live above) dont want her around me or the baby because her nephew has chickenpox and they want her not to come over a whole 40 days because she is in frequent contact with him.
To me, that doesnt make sence. I dont think hes infection 40 days nor will she effect us. When are they infectious to us?

the bad thing about chicken pox is not everybody has had them before. u may have seen something called shingles in older people, most of those people have the chicken pox virus but its coming out in the form of shingles. I know that the chicken pox virus is hightly contagious if the human has never been infected before. It takes from 10-21 days to develop symptoms after being exposed to a person infected with chickenpox. The usual time period is 14-16 days.Patients with chickenpox are contagious for 1-2 days before the rash appears and continue to be contagious through the first 4-5 days or until all the blisters are crusted over.
Get the facts on the chickenpox vaccine, treatment, causes (varicella zoster virus, VZV), symptoms and signs (itchy, red rash).
