Do I have chicken pox? Please help!?Ok, so I was at Disneyland the other day, and while I was waiting in line with my friends, I noticed a young boy next to me with scabs all over his legs, arms, and face. He was not scratching his scabs (which looked like they were already crusted over), but it was obvious to my friends and me that he had chicken pox or had recently recovered from it. I was standing about 1 feet from the boy for about 30 seconds before I decided to move. He never sneezed or coughed. I got a mild sore throat the day after Disneyland that is still persisting this very second. I tend to get sore throats after a very exhausting day and when my throat is dry though. I just don't know if this sore throat is because of my exhaustion and dehydration, or because of a chicken pox infection. I do not have a fever, nor do I feel fatigue or malaise. I am still able to swim laps and play tennis every day after my trip to Disneyland like normal. No itchy red blisters have been developing on my body. The only thing that concerns me is my sore throat! Is it possible that I have chicken pox? Should I have the doctor draw blood for testing?
Thanks!

You never had chicken pox before, right?
Alright, first thing. Sore throat is not the indication for chicken pox. So it might be, yeah, just a normal sore throat.
If 1 week (or 2 max) had gone by without malaise and no single red itchy blister, you've escaped from that infection.
Meanwhile, it's a good idea to gulp loads of water and avoid public places if you suspect chic pox is on the way.
Anyway doesn't sound like it.

If you have chicken pox, you would know FOR SURE. Trust me, I HAVE chicken pox. If you can do all those fun things and all you have is a little sore throat, it's not chicken pox. It's probably just a small cold.
Symptoms for chicken pox include contagious blisters all over your torso and face, and you are fatigued or tired, your skin is irritated, and you have the hugest headache. Plus you can't get infected if the little kid already has scabs.
Get the facts on the chickenpox vaccine, treatment, causes (varicella zoster virus, VZV), symptoms and signs (itchy, red rash).
