Is it really Chicken pox?

Is it really Chicken pox?Chicken pox after getting vaccinated??
My 5 yr old has a lil fever (99.7) and 9 red pimple like small bumps on his face, two of them are bigger on his cheek. he has two on his wrist and one on his back. And one in his lil nose ):

So of course I freak out, as usual and call the DR this morning and the nurse gets on the line and tells me its definetly the chicken pox. She says she has been a nurse for 23 yrs and they call her the chicken pox lady. She doesnt want me to bring him in at all. She simply tells me that they tend to have mild break outs like this after getting vaccinated, and since he had his pox shot when he was a baby that is why it is a small break out and not like we had when we were kids.

So would you buy it? I mean how and when do they start diagnosing over the phone? Does this mean my two other kids are going to get it too? Ughhhh im so stressed!!!

what do you guys think? Have any of you had a child develope the chicken pox even if they are vaccinated? and if so does my sond symptoms sound familar?

thx

it certainly sounds like chicken pox, and if it is, no doctor's office wants you bringing him in so he can spread it around. There isn't any treatment other than rest and fluids anyway. Use calomine lotion if he starts complaining of itch or starts scratching. And yeah, your other kids will likely get it too, it's part of being in a family, you share everything.

Get the facts on the chickenpox vaccine, treatment, causes (varicella zoster virus, VZV), symptoms and signs (itchy, red rash).
