Songs for the Inner Child Part 1: Preschool

Songs for the Inner Child Part 1: Preschool

In early high school I wrote a few songs to express my deep longing for the simplicity and innocence that was being young. Here's Part 1! Do you remember preschool? And its innocent stories? Playing with blocks and laughing Mining knowledge like endless quarries... Do you remember Huggies? And the chicken pox scandals? Eating lots of woodchips And playing on monkey bar handles. Yes that was nice, wasnt it? Fond memories. Well how about the social classes?! Do you remember those? Kids with Osh Kosh bGosh overalls While others could barely afford clothes! Idealistic differences Capitalism and communism could be found Jimmy would make a dirt pile And Joey wanted everyone to have an equal mound! (solo) We had an economy With trading Legos and shovels And secret languages encoded in spit bubbles And the girls fought the guys For playground domination With rule by government with Leaders of manipulation And I was one of them, giving bullcrap orations Like when I told Sam I have a treehouse to the sky With an express elevator And a room where you can fly And I told Morgan that Didja know you can travel through time By swinging around on a swingset The dizziness is a sign That youre in the future Take me to the future We're going to the future On this magical swingset All you gotta do is pay me With that ninja turtle dagger And soon, we will be, in the future You and me, in the future!
