The baby had bright red scar looking blobs on its body it didnt look too dry but then again it drooled a lot.... My friend said he reached the 7 day stage. Can I still get infected?

yes u can get infection. how old are u ? had u taken the vaccine as a kid ?
chicken pox can infect till all lesions have scabbed.

Chicken pox are contagious even before the sores come out. They are contagious until they dry up

Chickenpox is contagious from 48 hours before the first spot appears until all of the spots have crusted over.
