chicken pox in the throat & mouth what can i use?before you say consult your Gp i have tried this and they do not have app until MONDAY my child is 16months so hence why asking those that may have had similar situation all i want to know is can i buy over the counter medicine for this?

You can try an over-the-counter spray for sore throats and products for teething, which would numb the areas itching. If she gets a higher fever or gets lethargic, I would immediately take her to the emergency room. Do not give the baby aspirin - Tylenol only! Aspirin could cause serious problems in babies.

I can tell you a healing balm for the throat and mouth that I have used, it may help a little til you get to your doctor, try a little Aloe Vera gel that you can buy pure in health food stores and pharmacies, mix a little with some DIET seven up (It tastes terriblke and that masks the taste) It is great with sore throats etc so may offer some relief for your poor little baby!

We went to the doctor my little girls one.. she wouldnt eat.. it wasnt ck pox with her it started with like blister type sores on her chin lip and the later her mouth throat.. i didnt know til i took her to the doctor.
They gave her antibiotics.. but still whenver her immune system isnt as strong she breaks out with one little sore or bump on her chin and then it spreads with moisture.. (drooling in sleep etc.)
she had it around 18 months.. and it still comes and goes.
I would numb her throat so she would eat/drink with baby orajel and a sore throat spray.. When you find out.. could u contact me the doctor called it a "no name virus" and the topical med. didnt work.

Poor thing. Did you ask them over the phone to kindly suggest how they "deal" with this. ??

16 months is hard. Just have her drink a lot of cold water.
Eat an ice pop - or natural pops (made with real fruit juice)
everything else may "freak" her out - like a numbing spray.
Thankfully the mouth heals fast. But get some italian ice
freeze ice pops (pedilyte) or pops that are made with real juice. It may help keep her hydrated and "numb" in a natural way.
