How can you tell the difference between chicken pox and allergic reactions?I HAVE 13 MONTH OLD SON, I JUST NOTICED HE HAS THESE SPOTS ON HIS FACE AND ALL OVER HIS BODY( SIMILAR TO CHICKEN POX) BUT HE HAS A RASH ON HIS PRIVATE AND BUTT, I HAVE PUT DIAPER RASH BUT IT HAS NOT WORKED. I'M STILL NOT SURE IF ITS CHICKEN POX OR ALLERIC REACTION. HE'S EATING AND PLAYING AND DOES NOT HAVE A FEVER.

Chicken pox look like little pimples with small white heads, allergies usually look like hives. Could also be a virus or heat rash. Call your Pediatrician for a definite answer.

well my son is 9 months and he just got over an allergic reaction. i thought it might be chicken pox, the difference is that chicken pox seem to look like blisters where as and allergic reaction or rashare just red spots that seem to be in the skin and not lumpy. i thought it might be chicken pox because my niece just had it. turned out to be allergic reaction to medication he was having. i hope my answer helped

"sam" if it looks alot like a rash with a water inside also if its in warm areas such as under arms and grown area then most likely it is chicken pox it may also start in the diaper area because it is also kept warm there.
Get the facts on the chickenpox vaccine, treatment, causes (varicella zoster virus, VZV), symptoms and signs (itchy, red rash).
