Im pregnant and my 2 yr old has chicken pox?I have already had them when i was a child but people keep saying pregnant women need to stay away from people that are infected. (lol nearly impossible since she is my daughter!) Her chicken pox are very mild bc she had the vaccine. Is this a concern to me?
I am 6-10 (were not sure yet) weeks pregnant, and do have a weakened immune system from advair. I will also ask my dr tomorrow

My understanding is that German Measles are a risk factor with pregnancy. Most teenage girls are now inoculated against this disease at around 13 years of age. My Brother in law was born with two Chicken Pox blisters on one arm but perfectly healthy. I may be wrong but I have not heard or read of Chicken Pox being dangerous during prenancy. Ask your Doctor to be sure.

Have your mother take care of her if at all possible.

ok, i actually had to research this today.... (my nephew has shingles and it comes from basically the same virus). the first 2 trimesters and atleast 21 days before the birth of baby is the worst time to be exposed.....BUT since you have had the virus (in childhood) they should not affect you....that being said, i would still give a call to my dr and see if they need to draw a titer to see if you are immune and they will do a very in depth ultrasound between weeks 18-20 to make sure baby is fine.....like you said, there is no way you cant take care of your little girl, just use precautions such as handwashing, dont drink after her and try to limit "face time" (my 4 year old loves to talk directly into my face (like i cant hear him lol) Just give your ob a call, Good luck, hope she feels better. GOD BLESS~~~

Get someone else to look after her whilst she is contagious. Any disease is dangerous during pregnancy, I got this from this site if you want to read up on it.

High-risk groups
A developing baby is at risk of dying if their mother contracts chickenpox at any stage during the pregnancy. During the first trimester, the main danger is miscarriage, while infection in the later stages of pregnancy may prompt premature labour. Around one third of babies born to mothers who have contracted chickenpox in the few days leading up to delivery will die. People who have depressed immunity, such as those with leukaemia or Hodgkin's disease, or those on immunosuppressive drugs are at risk of longer and more serious illness.
