What does an equivocal result mean in a varicella (chickenpox) titer? Should I get the booster shot or retest?

What does an equivocal result mean in a varicella (chickenpox) titer? Should I get the booster shot or retest?I need to be immune before entering. I have had one shot. What should it had have been because I am confused about postive and negative. the girl at the lab didn't know:(

Immune before entering what?? An equivocal result is inconclusive. Consider it a negative. Titers are a measurement of antibodies and indicate immunity or the lack thereof. A negative is less than 0.91. No titers, no antibodies. A vaccine is called for. A positive titer means mesureable antibodies are persent and this confers immunity.

Arrange for a vaccine ASAP because you'll need to retest for blood titers again.

Get the facts on the chickenpox vaccine, treatment, causes (varicella zoster virus, VZV), symptoms and signs (itchy, red rash).
