are vitamins good for preventing chicken pox?

are vitamins good for preventing chicken pox?I was in contact with someone 2 days ago who found out later that day she was breaking out with chicken pox. Medical personnel advised us that the vaccine would not work now and we should get vitamins A, E, C and B complex tablets to build our immune systems.

Can anyone else back this up?

I doubt I'd listen to someone who hangs out in P&S over medical personnel...unless it's about sex.

No, I don't think it will help!

Getting Chicken Pox isn't that bad, except for the unborn or getting shingles later in life b/c it's the same virus hat causes both. If you've had it before you won't get again but it stays in your system and can cause shingles when you are run down or in poor health later in life.

Good Luck!

Get the facts on the chickenpox vaccine, treatment, causes (varicella zoster virus, VZV), symptoms and signs (itchy, red rash).
