Can dogs get viruses/bacteria in their fur?

Can dogs get viruses/bacteria in their fur?My younger sister has chicken pox and I know that chicken pox is airborne. I have never gotten chicken pox before. I don't live with my parents and my sister. I have two dogs that stay with them though. I know that dogs can't catch human sicknesses, but I want to know if the airborne chicken pox virus can get caught in dogs' fur and if I see the dogs can I catch the chicken pox that way

Answer by Neurobiology 101
Chicken pox won't carry over to your dog because the virus for it is specific to human DNA.

Yes, dogs can carry bacteria and viruses on their fur. About one half of the cells in and on your body are bacteria or some other type of microorganism and the same is true for your dog.

Bacteria are EVERYWHERE - go dig up some dirt in your yard and I guarantee there are at least 100 unknown species of bacteria in one shovel full of dirt. They're all over your counters, door knobs, floors, car dashboard, phone, in your ear wax, and everywhere else possible.
