You will continue to break out with little sores that have tiny fluid filled blisters on top of each sore for about 10 days. The sores will then start drying up and will become very itchy and the scabs will then fall off. You are considered contagious for about 14 days from the start of your first sore that appeared. You are no longer contagious when your last sore has lost it's blister and is drying up and the scabs are flaking off. You can take benadryl for the itching, take aveeno baths, apply lotion all over your body to help with the itching.
Get the facts on the chickenpox vaccine, treatment, causes (varicella zoster virus, VZV), symptoms and signs (itchy, red rash).
