I never caught the Chickenpox and am now considering the Vaccine, any RNs care to comment on its safety?I am 23 years old, never got them and now that I have a son (he is only 1 as of now) I know I will be exposed to more kids that could transmit it. I have heard it can be very serious to get as an adult so the vaccine is a consideration my doctor said. I have a panic disorder and tend to worry about vaccinations and chance of allergic reactions or complications. How safe is this shot? The documentation states a <10% chance to have a fever from it and a 4% or so chance of mild rash and there are also other lower chanced conditions that can occur. Any RNs or people knowledgeable in this field care to comment on your thoughts about the shot and its safety?

The dangers of this shot outweigh the risks of chicken pox.

Ketamine H - The risk of chickenpox vaccine causing serious harm, or death, is extremely small.
Getting chickenpox vaccine is much safer than getting chickenpox disease. Most people who get chickenpox vaccine do not have any problems with it. Mild problems include soreness or swelling where the shot was given (up to 1 out of 3 adults). Fever (1 person out of 10, or less). I recommend you get the vaccine so you won't get sick and be out of work or feeling badly when you need to be well taking care of your son and/or your patients.
Get the facts on the chickenpox vaccine, treatment, causes (varicella zoster virus, VZV), symptoms and signs (itchy, red rash).
