I'm in my early twenties and have never had chicken pox?

I'm in my early twenties and have never had chicken pox?My theory is that I wasn't socialized very well with other kids as child, or whatever, and that's why I have never contracted the disease, having hardly come into contact with it. I understand that Chicken Pox is much worse in adulthood, and I have been concerned about this for quite a while now. I have heard a few horror stories. Could someone please give me the lowdown of just how much worse Chicken Pox is, when experienced in adulthood? Symptoms, duration, etc.

Hi Cal,
Talk to your doctor. If you have never had it you probably should get the chicken pox inoculation. Then you shouldn't have any problems or worries about it.

Get the facts on the chickenpox vaccine, treatment, causes (varicella zoster virus, VZV), symptoms and signs (itchy, red rash).
