What is the best way of getting rid of the chicken pox?

What is the best way of getting rid of the chicken pox?I have the chicken pox, and I want to know if there is some kind of medicine for it, or a treatment to stop the itching. I know about oatmeal baths, but they don't really help. I'm all out of ideas, and walking around the house in an over-sized shirt is getting old.
I've been to the doctor, they said I was no longer contagious, they said that you're only contagious during the fever part of it. But now I am covered in the pox, and it's itchy and disgusting. I just want some relief for that part of it.

That's the thing.
You want to wear clothes as tight to your body as you can. It helped me ^.^

God bless.

there is a medication but it has to be taken as soon as you are diagnosed so it's probably too late. here's a site about kids with chicken pox, hope it helps:

There's no medicine to get rid of it. But now you're in the healing stage. You're itchy like mad. But DON'T SCRATCH. You'll end up scarring yourself. Take warm showers, being careful not to exfoliate the scabs...just cleanse lightly with a shower gel...and moisturize. Don't rub the towel over your body...but dab at the moisture.

Sorry...nothing else you can do until the scabs fall off on their own.
