What is the contagious level of chicken pox?

What is the contagious level of chicken pox?Im planning to go somewhere today and all the sores have scabbed over so im wondering if anyone around me can still get chicken pox.

Generally speaking, children are considered non-contageous when all lesions have scabbed over.

Personally, I would want to make sure you aren't going to be in contact with anyone currently on chemo, has an immune deficiency disorder, or on high doses of steroids. That's just me, not official dogma.

If you are sure there is no weeping sores left, then you will not be contagious. Even just one though will increse the chances of being infections. I agree with grydoc, stay clear of people who are already ill or otherwise compromised.

Get the facts on the chickenpox vaccine, treatment, causes (varicella zoster virus, VZV), symptoms and signs (itchy, red rash).
