both my brother and sister-in-law got them at the same time,they were in their early 30's.They were down less than two weeks

Chicken pox is much more severe in adults than in kids and carries a higher risk of complications such as pneumonia, dehydration, encephalitis, hepatitis, bacterial infections of the blisters and on rare occasion, death. It lasts about a week but may take some individuals a few days longer to fully recover.

Varicella zoster (chicken pox) infection in adults can be more severe and cause more complications than chickenpox in children.
The rash usually appears 10-21 days after exposure and lasts about 2 weeks.
Contracting chickenpox as an adult makes you more likely (1 in 10) to contract shingles, painful blistering along the nerves in your sides and back. The varicella virus may remain in the nerves leading from your spine and when it becomes reactivated it causes shingles. Shingles may lead to postherpetic neuralgia, in which the pain of shingles continues even though there are no blisters.

Adult chicken pox can be very dangerous because it has a higher rate of complication such as viral pneumonia or pericarditis. I suggest that you go see a doctor immediately so you can be started on acyclovir. My mom had it in her 40s, it lasted about 2 weeks but we had her on acyclovir asap!
