I had chicken pox when i was 12, am i at risk for developing shingles?I had chicken pox when i was 12, am i at risk for developing shingles, if i was in contact with someone diagnosed with shingles now. I am 23, not immunosuppresed, and not pregnant.

anyone who has had chicken pox is at risk for developing shingles as the virus can re-activate in times of stress or immunosupression.

Yes, there is a possibility, but that doesn't mean you will get shingles. My now adult children all had chicken pox but my daughter is the only one that has bouts of shingles. Nancy

If you had chicken pox you can't catch shingles from someone else; but if your chicken pox develops into shingles later in life you can give chiken pox to someone else who never had chicken pox. You should know the symptoms of shingles (from the link, etc.) because certain medications must be administered by a doctor at the onset to be most effective. Good luck.

I'm pretty sure you can't get shingles from coming into contact with someone else who has shingles. It isn't infectious like chicken pox. However you might check on a site like web.md to see if a person with shingles can give someone chicken pox.

Why don't you try a Natural Alternative? such as the Mangosteen juice (has nothing to do with mangos).
You can read about it's powerful Xanthones , at
www.Oly4THeHealingJuice.com, click on the Testimonies tab and read how this has helped others with your symptoms.

I suggest you talk to your doctor about this healthy juice and see if it will help you.
God bless.
