My 9 month old has chicken pox. What's the best remedy My nine month old daughter woke up with spots on her. I took her to the doctor and he confirmed what I feared, a case of the chicken pox. He suggested using Benedryl for kids and baking soda or oatmeal baths. What else can I do to help her? I feel so helpless and just hope this passes quickly. How long does the typical chicken pox infection last in babies?

There really isn't much you can do but wait it out.

The best remedy is time and NOT SCRATCHING! Otherwise, the baking soda and oatmeal are extremely soothing and should do the trick.

my mum used camomile lotion and it works wonders.. i remember i got it wen i was 7 (im 19 now) and it rly helped.. i hardly scratched (though i still did at times) and even some normal baby powder i imagine
keep her nails short so she won't scratch lik mad!
hope this helped, though i'm only saying from experience!
good luck and hope she feels better soon x
