Need professional medical diagnosis help, 1-year-old stopped walking after vaccines and food allergic reaction? Our son was walking fine for three weeks, but now he won't walk on his own, swings his right leg and foot out when trying, and looses balance but shows no sign of leg or hip pain. This started a week ago after he got the 4 well-visit inocculations in both legs (chickenpox, prevnar, flu, and hep-A), followed by a severe allergic reaction (we think to peanut butter) the next morning. He was tired and cranky the night after his well-visit, no fever, little crawling, no walking. The pediatrician had also told us to start giving him table food, including things like peanut butter, which we tried the next morning. 15 min later he broke out all over in hives so we called the dr, gave 3/4 tsp Benadryl, and rushed him back in and were seen by another pediatrician. The rash was resolving and no breathing problems so we were sent home by doc #2 to give 1/4 tsp children's Claritin in 4 hours and another dose Benadryl. He was zonked that day, we figured from the shots and meds, so we didn't think much of the lack of walking. But it has persisted. We took him back to the same office and doc #3 did a physical exam and hip x-rays. All 3 docs feel it's not an emergency but have no idea what the problem is. Our son's good mood & energy level returned and there's no sign of injury, inflammation, pain, he crawls, but his balance and leg movement remain poor. They think it's not related to the allergic reaction or allergy meds and say the chances of it being due to the vaccines is highly unlikely. We are awaiting results of more leg xrays and have an appt with the pediatric neurologist for next month. We don't want to overreact and now have 3 doctors' opinions. But we're seeing no improvement, don't know what's wrong, and wonder if it could be for instance some sort of degenerative condition that needs more urgent care. Thanks for any help/suggestions!

Sounds very much like a vaccine injury. My advice is to see a DAN! doctor for an alternate opinion and some real help and guidance. DAN! stands for Defeat Autism Now! I know your son's reaction is not autism, but DAN! doctors know that vaccines are capable of causing injuries, and they will not go out of their way to point fingers at everything but the vaccine.
Here's a list of DAN! doctors. Hopefully there is one in your area. But many people do travel long distances to see one.

Get the facts on the chickenpox vaccine, treatment, causes (varicella zoster virus, VZV), symptoms and signs (itchy, red rash).
